Headache is a real destroyer of parties. A beautiful sunny day can turn you into hell and make you drag yourself into a dark room and fall asleep.
But in the days when you do not have the option to “lie down” in the headache, there are several opportunities you need to give them a chance.
Try peppermint, lavender or rosemary. It’s not that they just smell nicely – neurologists say they are proving to help alleviate headaches. It is enough to drop a few drops of these oils into a cool cotton buckle and put it on the forehead or temples.
Hot or cold compression
When you feel that the pain is coming up, immediately think of compression. The point is that pressing on the head stimulates the nerve endings of the face and scalp, which sends a signal to the brain to temporarily reduce pain.
It’s yours whether you prefer cold or hot compression, but most people would decide for a cold one.
Together with headache, a feeling of nausea often comes. Help yourself with a cup of ginger tea. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties, and some doctors even recommend putting a piece of ginger on your forehead between your eyebrows to relieve pain.
Headache is a sign that something is wrong in your body. Supplements as a dietary supplement, especially vitamin B2 and coenzyme Q10, are unlikely to break the headache at the same time, but if you take them regularly, they can act preventively.
Magnesium is also your faithful ally in the fight against headache because it controls the nerves and muscles, and reduces the level of cortisol, which is a regular cause of migraines.
This may be a good excuse for another cup of coffee – namely, caffeine narrows the blood vessels in the head. But beware, too much caffeine has a completely opposite effect.
